Frequently Asked Questions
-
Religious trauma happens when someone has harmful experiences inside a faith community where beliefs, practices, or group dynamics feel controlling and end up taking away a person’s sense of safety or independence.
It’s usually not about a single moment. More often, it builds over time through repeated experiences that leave someone feeling scared, ashamed, or powerless. Because of that, it can show up in a lot of different ways, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually, and can affect how someone relates to themselves, others, and their sense of meaning or faith.

What sets me apart is that I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise into the therapy space. I understand firsthand how complex it can feel to untangle identity, faith, and early conditioning, and I also bring years of clinical training and experience as a licensed social worker across schools, communities, and telehealth settings.
My approach is grounded, practical, and human. I focus on creating a space where you don’t have to fit a mold, you can just show up as you are and we’ll work from there.

I also work with anxiety and depression, especially when they show up as constant overthinking, emotional exhaustion, irritability, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others. My approach is practical and grounded, helping you understand what’s driving those patterns and building tools that actually fit your day-to-day life.
